Gull Lake visited Loy Norrix on a wet and rainy Friday night for a mud-fest football game.  Gull Lake struck first with a first quarter 7-yard TD run around the right side by senior Ben Jackson. PAT kicked failed.  Early in the 2^nd quarter, Gull Lake’s Silas VanWormer scored from 24 yards out on a quarterback keeper.  The 2-pt PAT failed.  Loy Norrix responded with a TD pass of their own. Their 2 pt. PAT failed.  Halftime score, GL 12  LN 6.

The Knights responded in the 3^rd quarter with a 70-yard TD pass completion.  The 2 pt PAT pass failed.  That score tied the game 12-12 after three quarters.

In the 4th quarter, Gull Lake’s James Romyak scored from 4 yards out.  2-pt. PAT failed.  Gull Lake led 18-12.  The next two plays were the most exciting back-to-back plays that you can have in high school football.  Loy Norrix was on their way to returning the ensuing KOR for a TD, when Silas VanWormer’s TD-saving tackle stop the Knights on the 1-yard line.  On the very next play, Loy Norrix’s QB fumbled the center exchange and Gull Lake’s linebacker, Riley Eastman, returned the fumble 99-yards for a unbelievable Blue Devil touchdown.  Romyak’s 2-pt PAT was good. The Blue Devil defense held firm and forced an interception by junior Noah Blake to seal the victory.  Final score Gull Lake 26  Loy Norrix 12.   Gull Lake is 4-4 on the season.
