Gull Lake’s offense could move the ball against the Bearcats Friday night, but Blue Devil’s problem was that they could not secure the ball. Four Blue Devil fumbles in the game put their defense in a tight spot all night. Gull Lake’s James Romyak scored from 3 yards out in the second quarter. The Bearcats scored three times in the first half to make the score 22-8 at halftime.
Teams exchanged offensive scores in the fourth quarter. Gull Lake’s quarterback, Silas VanWormer, scored from 5 yards out on a counter-play in the 4th quarter. Gull Lake made the game interesting late in the game with a blocked punt and Reese Hamlin scooped and scored from 28 yards out for the GL defense with 1:27 to go in the game.
