DETROIT COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL: 28
Gull Lake battled a state-ranked Yellowjacket team hard but came up short against Detroit Country Day. The Blue Devils allowed an early TD by Country Day but then held tough in the 1st half. Gull Lake played a very aggressive defensive first half. The Yellowjacket QB was under constant pressure in the first half with very few completions. Half: DCD 7 GL 0. Gull Lake made the game close in the 3rd quarter. Punter Braden Stanton dropped a punt down to the 2-yard line. Gull Lake's defense tackled the RB in the endzone and forced a fumble on the very next play. LB Pete Guadard landed on the loose ball in the endzone for a defensive TD and closed the gap to 7-6. The Blue Devils battled throughout the 3rd quarter trailing 14-6 after three quarters. The Yellowjackets took momentum throughout the 4th quarter to take the lead and the win. Final: DCD 28 GL6
