Gull Lake would face Jackson who earned a 1-0 win over host Holt in the MHSAA District Championship game.  Jackson’s Brennan Miller threw a gem going 7 strong innings shutting out Holt to move on against Gull Lake. Jackson won the toss and was the home team. Gull Lake scored 1st in the 2nd when Jacob Gleason led off with a walk. Kole Warren walked and Jake Allen would reach on an error by the 3rd baseman to load the bases. Gavin Griffin would then single driving in Gleason and Warren. Allen would later score on a wild pitch giving Gull Lake a 3-0 lead. Jackson would cut into the lead in the bottom of the 3rd, Jack Kopplin and Noah Bush walked to start the inning, Justin Hoskins then singled to drive in Kopplin. At the end of 3 Gull Lake 3, Jackson 1. That would be the only run Gull Lake’s Starter would allow the rest of the game. Ruge went 7 innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 3 to earn the win. Gull Lake would get that run back in the 4th, Gavin Griffin walked and went to 3rd on an errant pick off attempt. Justin Mansager would hit a sac fly to center to drive in Griffin. Gull Lake would add 6 more runs to open the game wide open in the 5th. They sent 11 batters up to the plate. Jake Allen had a big 2 run single, and Justin Mansager had an RBI Sac Fly. Gavin Griffin just missed a homerun by feet, hitting the Left Field fence for a double. Up 10-1 Gull Lake was just 9 outs away from the District Title. Brandon Ruge only allowed 1 runner to reach base in the final 3 innings. Final score Gull Lake 10, Jackson 1. Justin Hoskins, Keegan Bradley, Michael O'Dowd, Andrew Corravo, and Noah Bush all had hits in the loss. Gull Lake was led a the plate by Jacob Gleason with 3 hits. Gavin Griffin and Dylan Stanton add 2 hits as well. Justin Mansager had two RBI Sac Flies in the win.

Gull Lake moves on to face Grand Ledge who won their District in Regionals. That game will be played at Battle Creek Lakeview on Saturday June 9th.
