GAME SUMMARYGull Lake wins Game 1 11 to 3, and Game 2 was called due to darkness. Game 1 Gull Lake 11, Jackson Northwestern 3. Gull Lake came out on top in the first game that lasted 2 hours and 53 minutes and saw 10 different pitchers taking the mound. Gull Lake got on the scoreboard early in the top of the 1st, scoring 3 runs on an Luke Scoles RBI groundout, a Dylan Stanton SAC Fly, and a RBI single by Dawson Clancy. Jack Blesch had a crucial 2-out single to keep the inning going. He would later score on Clancy’s RBI Single. Justin Mansager led the inning off with a single then stole 2nd and 3rd base. Northwestern got one back when Brandon Bostwick walked, followed by a Connor Schefferly put runners on the corner with 1 out. Bostwick would end up scoring on a balk, At the end of 1, Gull Lake 3, Northwestern 1. Northwestern added another run in the bottom of the 2nd. Back to back singles by Sawyer Epstien and Dakota Hitt and a walk by Noah Miller would load the bases. Epstien would score on a bases loaded walk by Brandon Bostwick. At the end of 2 Gull Lake 3, Northwestern 2. Gull Lake picked up one more in the 4th after courtesy runner Korbin Griffin scored on a Luke Scoles SAC Fly with an error. The error allowed Scoles to reach 2nd with 1 out. Northwestern’s Connor Schefferly had the play of the game, robbing Dylan Stanton of a single and then doubled up Scoles for an inning ending double play. The hit of the day came in the Top of the 5th when Gull Lake’s Kole Warren sent a 1-0 pitch deep over the left field fence for his 1st Home Run of the season. Northwestern cut into the lead in their half of the 5th when Connor Schefferly scored when Sawyer Epstien reached on base due to an error. At the end of 5, Gull Lake 5, Northwestern 3. Gull Lake would put it out of reach in the Top of 6 sending 10 batters to the plate. They scored 4 runs without on 4 walks and 3 hit by pitch. Justin Mansager and Brandon Ruge both got an RBI Hit by pitch, and Dawson Clancy picked up another RBI on a bases loaded walk. Courtesy Runner Korbin Griffin scored on a wild pitch. Gull Lake would add two more runs in the Top of the 7th after Luke Scoles would score on a wild pitch, and Dawson Clancy would pick up this 3rd RBI of the day with a SAC Fly to centerfield scoring Dylan Stanton. Luke Mastromattieo would pick up the win on the mound for Gull Lake going 3 strong innings allowing 0 runs on 1 hit, and striking out 5. Bayler Keirns was handed the loss for Northwestern.
