MATTAWAN HIGH SCHOOL: 34
Your Gull Lake JV team dropped their season-opener to Mattawan Monday night 34-14. QB Noah Blake scored from 1 yard out in the 2nd quarter and Carter Birdsall caught a TD pass from Blake in the 3rd quarter. Diago Benson caught the 2 point PAT from Blake to end the night’s scoring for your Blue Devils Birdsall had an interception for the defense and James Romyak strip-sacked the Mattawan quarterback and recovered the fumble deep in Mattawan territory to set up the first score of the night for Gull Lake. The JV team travels to BC Central next Monday night. Kickoff is at 5 pm.
