GL Softball wins 3rd straight district title with wins over BCC and Holt

HOLT SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 0
The Blue Devil softball team took care of business on Saturday defeating Battle Creek Central in the District Semifinal and Holt in the district championship game. Sonia Markucki threw a no hitter in the semifinal win over BCC. Lauren Esman took over on the mound in the final game with another outstanding performance of her own. Gull Lake defeated Holt in the finals, 6-0. Ashlee Kramer came up huge offensively with a triple. Mandy Esman, Erika Hubbard and Hannah Lord also contributed with hits of their own.
The Blue Devils advance to the Regional round of play next Saturday, June 8 at Howell High School. Semifinal game time is 10:00 am with the final scheduled for 2:00 pm.
