Gull Lake gets back to its winning ways with sweep of Parma Western

Gull Lake wins Game 1 12 to 2 in 5 innings, and Game 2 6 to 4.

Game 1 Gull Lake 12 to 2 in 5 Innings.

Gull Lake scored 12 runs on 12 hits while allowing 2 runs on 7 hits.

Gull Lake got on the board early in the Bottom of the 1st, when Justin Mansager scored when Luke Scoles reached on an error. Dylan Stanton would also score on a wild pitch. Giving Gull Lake a 2 to 0 lead.

Gull Lake would send 10 batters to the plate in the 2nd scoring 6 runs in the inning. Dean Sommer led off the inning with a walk, followed by a bunt single by Brandon Ruge Sommer would score on an error by Parma. Justin Mansager would double scoring Ruge. Jacob Louden was hit by a pitch and a walk by Dylan Stanton would load the bases. Kole Warren would single driving in Mansager, Jack Blesch then would follow it up with his own RBI single driving in Louden. Not to be out done, Hunter Hazel added his own RBI single driving in Stanton. At the end 2 Gull Lake 8, Parma Western 0.

Parma Western would pick up 2 in the Top of the 3rd. Caleb Tripp led off the inning with a single, he would move to 3rd on a double by Russ Logston. Both would come around to score on a Nick Farkas double.

Gull Lake Scored 1 more in their half of the inning on an RBI groundout by Dylan Stanton, which plated Justin Mansager who reached base on a Hit by Pitch. At the end of 3 Gull Lake 9, Parma Western 2.

Gull Lake would score 3 more in the 5th giving them the 10 run mercy rule. Justin Mansager would single, Jacob Louden walked, and Dylan Stanton would reach base on an infield single loading the bases. Kole Warren singled to left scoring Mansager, and Jack Blesch followed it up with a single of his own scoring Louden and Stanton.

Jack Blesch led the way for Gull Lake going 2 for 2 with 3 RBI’s. Justin Mansager and Kole Warren both added 2 hits in the win.

Nike Farkas and Caleb Tripp both had 2 hits in the loss for Parma Western.

Avery Eastman earned the victory on the mound for Gull Lake allowing 2 runs on 7 hits while striking out 5. Landon Raczkowski suffered the loss for Parma Western.

 

Game 2 Gull Lake 6, Parma Western 4

Parma Western jumped out to a 2 to 0 lead in the top of the first when Landon Raczkowski reached base on an error. He would come to score on a Nick Farkas double. Farkas would eventually get to 3rd on an errant throw. He would score on a groundout RBI by Wyatt Heavy.

Gull Lake would cut into the lead in their half of the 1st. With two outs, Dylan Stanton singled and then stole 2nd base. He would then score on a Jack Blesch RBI single to left field, at the end of 1 Parma Western 2, Gull Lake 1.

Gull Lake would gain the lead in the bottom of the 2nd on back to back RBI singles by Cooper Hamlin and Dean Sommer. They would get 2 more on a Hunter Hazel SAC Fly to score Sommer, and an RBI single by Dylan Stanton, scored Justin Mansager who doubled to get on base. At the end of 2 Gull Lake 5, Parma Western 2.

Parma Western would get 1 in the 3rd and 1 in the 6th to cut the lead to 1. Nick Farkas would score on an error in the 3rd, and Wyatt Heavy would score on an RBI single by Ethan Trader in the 6th.

Gull Lake would add an insurance run in the bottom of the 6th on a Justin Mansager home run, his first of his career.

Picking up his first varsity win for Gull Lake was Carson Senske. He went 4 innings allowing 3 runs (0 ER) on 4 hits striking out 1. Branden Stanton would come in and shut to door giving him the save. Ryan Nichols got the loss for Parma Western.
