Game 1: Gull Lake used two big innings to seal the win against Loy Norrix. Gull Lake scored 4 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, and 4 more in the 5th.  Gull Lake’s 4 runs in the 2nd inning came by a Kole Warren single followed by a Luke Scoles double putting runners on 2nd and 3rd. Brandon Ruge singled to drive in Warren. A Jacob Allen walk loaded the bases for catcher Hunter Hazel, he singled to plate Luke Scoles. Next batter Justin Mansager drew a bases loaded walk scoring Ruge. After a Jacob Gleason Sacrifice Fly scoring Allen Gull Lake was up 4-0. Gull Lake picked up 2 more in the 3rd on an error and an RBI single by Hunter Hazel. In the 5th Justin Mansager singled, driving in 2 and the winning run came on a Cade Stanton double that scored brother Dylan Stanton. Gull Lake’s Luke Scoles pitched 5 solid innings allowing no runs on 2 hits while striking out 9 Loy Norrix batters. Elijah Miller and Deandre Worthy had both of the Knights hits. Loy Norrix’s Adam Donstewitz got the loss. Hunter Hazel picked up 3 hits and 2 RBI’s in the win for Gull Lake. Luke Scoles added 2 hits to help his cause.

Game 2 Gull Lake brought out the big bats in game two. Gull Lake homered 4 times in the 11-1 victory. Loy Norrix scored 1st in the top of the 1st after Andrew Roberts singled and then scored when Grant Emenheiser reached on an error. Grant was the last base runner Gull Lake starting pitcher Jack Blesch would allow the rest of the game. Jack allowed 1 hit in 5 strong innings and struck out 7 in the win. Ty Overheiser was handed the loss for Loy Norrix. Gull Lake’s scoring started early in the bottom of the 1st, leadoff hitter Justin Mansager walked and scored when Dylan Stanton took a 1-1 Ty Overheiser pitch deep, for a 2 run shot. Gull Lake picked up 1 more run on a Luke Scoles RBI single that drove in Kole Warren who hit a ground rule double. Dylan Stanton struck again in the bottom of the 3rd, Jacob Gleason walked to begin the inning, then Dylan went deep hitting Gull Lake’s scoreboard driving in Gleason. Gull Lake added one more run on a Kole Warren solo shot. Gull Lake tacked on 4 more runs in the 4th, 3 of them on a Cade Stanton 3 run shot. Jacob Gleason singled, and Dylan Stanton reached on the error, before Cade Stanton hit a 3-2 pitch out of the park making the score 10-1 Gull Lake. Gull Lake’s winning run came when courtesy runner Tony Schnotala scored on an error on the shortstop. Dylan Stanton and Kole Warren both had 2 hits in the win.

Tuesday’s sweep gives Gull Lake a 15-5 record on the season. 3-0 in conference.

Loy Norrix is home against Bronson on Thursday while Gull Lake travels to Stevensville Lakeshore.
