The girls' varsity basketball team raised their overall record to 1-1 with a SMAC East division win at Mattawan Friday night, 50-26. A tenacious defense forced Mattawan into 44 turnovers on the night, with Kylie White producing 8 deflections and 4 steals. Leading a very balanced Blue Devil offense was Ashton Whitman with 9 points. Olivia Heuermann and Audrey DeWaters each scored 6 points, while AJ Davis and Avery Cook chipped in 6 points each. The ladies host Otsego on Tuesday. Tip-off is around 7:15 pm.
